2nd Scotland-Rheinland-Pfalz Life Sciences and Biotechnology Conference
Join us online on 14th May for our biennial scientific conference with Rheinland-Pfalz. This conference is designed for students and early career researchers interested in networking and building international connections.
About the Conference
The Scottish Universities Life Sciences Alliance (SULSA) are delighted to present the Second Scotland-RLP Life Sciences and Biotechnology Conference in partnership with the Rheinland-Pfälzische Technische Universität Kaiserslautern-Landau
This free online event is primarily aimed at PhD students and early career researchers in Rheinland-Pfalz and Scotland to support their international network development and research progression.
The event is supported by the Scottish Government and the Rheinland-Pfalz Ministry for Science and Health.
We will have five focused symposia as well as plenary talks and an online networking session. The symposia topics are:
- Sustainability in Biotechnology
- AI and Data in Healthcare
- Engineering Biology
- Biotechnology for Advanced Therapies
- Neurodegeneration and Healthy Ageing

Abstract Submission
PhD Students and Postdoctoral Researchers are invited to submit an abstract to give a 15-min oral presentation and take part in a panel discussion during the focused symposia.
Your abstract must contain a title, all authors (with the presenting author’s name underlined), and your abstract in .doc .docx or .txt file type. The abstract should include an introduction to the research topic, interesting methodologies and/or results, and the impact of this research project for the research community or wider. The body of the abstract must not exceed 250 words.
Abstract submission is open now and will close on 22nd March 2024, at 5 pm GMT / 7 pm CET. All submitters will be notified by w/c 8th April.
